A 50-year property management and development group was running on an ageing custom PHP site. Rebuilt on Astro, structured around the business’s actual divisions.
The Problem
Shiu Pong Group of Companies has managed residential, commercial and retail properties across Toronto for more than 50 years. The public site was still running on a custom PHP build that hadn’t kept pace with the business — a portfolio that now spans thousands of residential units and millions of square feet of commercial and retail space. The old codebase made routine changes slow and put the business at odds with how a 50-year operation should present itself online.
What Was Built
A full rebuild on Astro, custom-coded rather than fitted into a template. The site is structured around the business’s actual divisions — residential and retail management, and development projects — instead of generic property management copy that could describe any company in the sector. A property search using the Google Maps API lets visitors find and browse Shiu Pong’s properties directly on the site.
The Result
A site that reads like it belongs to a business with 50 years of history, not a placeholder waiting on an update. Strong marks across the board — 98 SEO, 100 Accessibility, 92 Best Practices — on top of a 93 Performance score.
