An older WordPress site with a messy theme, bloated with plugins, was conflicting with WordPress core.
The Problem
Wyse Construction Group’s website had accumulated several technical issues over time — slow load speeds, broken functionality, and underlying configuration problems that were degrading both user experience and search performance. The issues were not individually catastrophic but in combination they were affecting how the site performed for visitors and how it was interpreted by Google. The entire site, including the dashboard, was very slow loading, and the formatting was broken throughout.
What Was Fixed
A brief technical audit identified causes that contributed to speed and performance issues. Older unoptimized image formats and video, along with dozens of render-blocking resources were just a few of the issues that had accumulated.
The simplest approach was to start fresh with GeneratePress, a lightweight highly customizable and well maintained theme.
The Result
Site speed improved dramatically. Technical issues that had been accumulating were resolved and confirmed working. The site is lean now with minimal plugins and is easy to manage.
